In 1981 Theresia and Alois Ganahl founded the Piz Buin together with their son Niki and his wife Notburga in in the immediate vicinity of the valley station of the Pardatschgratbahn in Ischgl, thus, laying the foundation for a successful family business.
In 1989 the après ski bar Niki`s Stadl, which is still one of the most popular nightlife locations in Ischgl, was opened. The Wildererhütte and its wildlife park, a popular destination on the Silvretta High Alpine Road, is also part of the company.
In 2014 the hotel was modernized.
In 2015 Sabine and Christian took over the family business. With the children Alexander, Daniel and Michaela, a succession in the fourth generation is also ensured.
